Somthing simple

Not having much time I wanted to create something really simple today. I have a friend who loves pink so I thought I'd make a card for her just to let her know she's been on my mind. The concept took about 10 minutes to come up with and about 5 minutes to execute. So you can make cards quickly when you need to. To add some extra details I sponged around the edges of the polka dot paper and the pink card. I used one of my favourite stamps on the front of the card and inside. It's only a small part of the stamp, but I'm planning on using it again so you'll see the whole print soon. (Follow me on this blog so you don't miss out). I also raised the brown card by using some double sided sponge tape. It just adds dimension to the card. The bow and the tiny seed pearl beads also lift the card just a bit. (The colour on this pic isn't great. I need to work on my photography skills.) Inside the card I carried the theme through with a repeat of the papers ...

Congratulations

The pandemic has taught me many things this past year. It's taught me what's really important. It's taught me to focus on what really matters. It's taught me how truly generous and wonderful my friends are. And it's taught me that no matter the circumstances it's important to celebrate the little things and find joy in moments. Here's two cards I made to celebrate the small things using the Art Gallery stamp set. As I mentioned in my last post , this is a two-step stamp set which means you can uses colours to really bring depth to the flower images you stamp. In this case I've used coordinating colours of shades of blue, but you could use contrasting colours to really make a pop. For this card I used heat and stick powder to add some gilded leaf to the hero image to make it pop. Here's to celebrating the small moments that matter and making memories together. If you want to get started on a new hobby or restart your passion for card making th...

Cheers to a New Year

Happy New Year! And yes I know it's already March - better late than never right? I don't know about y'all but this year started pretty rough for us. After dealing with some family health issues (aging is never easy) we decided to take off for a week to try and rejuvenate and prepare ourselves mentally and physically for the busy year we know 2018 is going to be. Sure enough the first quarter of year has been big - good - but big. It's when things are crazy like this that I think it's even more important to be kind to yourself, and find something in the every day to give you an opportunity to refresh your body and mind. For me that's been yoga - every day so far this year - here's hoping I make it every day all year... and craft. There's something so good for the brain when you get creative. It really does help you to thrive not just survive! Here's a little card I made for the new year. I wanted to make some fun cards to give to people at the ...
