How to really mean it when you say thank you

There are lots of ways to thank someone for a gift, for a job well done, for being a great friend.  You can buy a gift, take them out, or simply say the words.  The thing about words though is they always seem to mean more if you write them down.  What better way to say thank you than with thoughtful words in a handmade card.

This card was very quick to make and only has one stamped image.  The rest is all done with my trusty punches and big shot.  I truly love cards that look complicated but are really very simple.  I'm setting a goal this year to show my appreciation to those around me through words & deed.  That means lots of homemade cards (deeds) and lots of words to be written.

Why don't you brighten up someones day today and give them a gift of appreciation by sending a homemade card.

Happy crafting.

Love a good sale in January.  The best thing about a new sale from Stampin' Up is that it comes along with the release of a new catalogue.  Right now you can shop the new catalogue - yep new products, and also grab a sale-a-bration bonus.

Until 31 March you’ll earn 1 FREE sale-a-bration item for every $90 you order – so the more you spend the more you’ll get free! This year there are 12 products to choose from – 7 stamp sets, 2 paper packs, ribbon, a card tin and a Card Kit!  (I've already got 2 card kits and can't wait to fill them as gifts.  On February 2 there will also be new products added - so you can do two rounds of bargain shopping :-)

You can check out the new catalogue here and sale-a-bration rewards here.  Then jump on-line any time to place your order in my online store.
Happy shopping :-)

Birthday bonanza

I don't know about you, but making cards for guys is hard for me.  I tend to gravitate towards floral stamp sets or things that I think are fun, but maybe not very gender neutral (although I completely believe in buying flowers for guys).  As much as I'm ok with flowers or balloons on cards for guys for their birthdays, sometimes you just want something a little more funky or sophisticated. I think that's why I'm loving the Paisleys & Posies Photopolymer Stamp Set as it's so versatile.

For this card I kept it very simple - Copper foil, Night of Navy and Whisper White.  I actually love these 3 colours together.  It's a very classic combo and something that lends itself to being a card for anyone of any age.

I am also completely addicted to the copper embossing powder right now.  Confession time... I have a thing for copper in my house as I have a giant copper pendant lamp in my dining room table, copper pots, copper lamps, copper cushions... well you get th…
