Just a quick one today to show you a card I made for one of my team when she got married.  I wanted to make something a little different from a traditional wedding card so I used the banner blast set that I got free during Sale-a-bration.  **There's only a few days left if you want to get this set**

I embossed the background with the Decorative Dots embossing folder - also something I got free for sale-a-bration.  The heart was cut out using one of my bigshot dies on silver glimmer paper that I had left over from Christmas cards.

You can't see but I also sprayed the background with some Smooch Spritz.  It's got a nice little glimmer when you hold it to the light.  I also punched out about 100+ large hearts from cardstock and put them all over her desk like giant confetti.  I'm not sure how much she enjoyed cleaning it up but I had fun doing it ;-)

Happy crafting

Time for another #tooeasytuesday.  I was participating in a challenge on the clean & simple blog.  The layout design was very simple and I wanted to do something a little striking.  I've been using the chevron background stamp a lot lately.  I love the way it bring impact to a card, but isn't overwhelming.  It's great for both masculine and feminine cards.  And it's very 'in' as a pattern in the design world right now.  Starting from there - this is what I came up with.

I decided I wanted to add a little something to the inside of the card too.  I used the masking technique to get the straight line across the bottom of the card - too easy!

Have you been participating in any challenges?  Any more card making challenges out there you can share with me?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Happy crafting.

#tooeasytuesday - challenge time

This week's #tooeasytuesday was inspired by another challenge I decided to take part in over at the Colour Q blog.  The colours to use were Basic Black, Basic Grey, White, Gumball Green and Glorious Green.  These are not colours I would ordinarily use or put together and it was a bit of a challenge. I think I'm pretty happy with the result though.  I only used 2 stamp sets to keep it simple - Perfect Pennants for the sentiment and Betsy's Blossoms for the rest.

I decided to go the extra mile and stamp an insert for the inside of the card too.  It's a nice way to finish it off.

What do you think?  Did I do ok?

It's #tooeasytuesday time and time for a little more inspiration.  This card was easy to make.  Even easier as I was using the sketch from this week's clean & simple stamping challenge.
I wanted to make a card that could be suitable for a man.  So many cards I make lend themselves to women because of the colours and styles I'm natural drawn too.  It's usually a challenge for me to make a card that is masculine but still striking.  By keeping the colour palate very simple & neutral and picking a single very bold stamp from the Perfect Pennants stamp set I think I nailed it.  A little texture on the white background card stock using an embossing folder and I was done.

If you're stuck for inspiration giving a challenge a go can be the perfect inspiration.  With a sketch or colour combo already given to you, you have a great base to work from.  Have you got a favourite challenge you're a part of?  Leave a comment and let me know.  I'm really keen to …
