A little lace

I'm loving making my own background paper. Sometimes you want to use a specific colour combo and you just don't have Designer Series Paper that meets that requirement. The great thing about having a stamp set is that you can use multiple stamps from the set to make your own background - which is exactly what I did here with the A Little Lace stamp set. I used the retired Coastal Weave embossing folder to add some dimension to a vertical strip but you could use any folder. A few metallic pearls and some ribbon and this card was complete. It's a different colour palate than what I've been using recently but sometimes you need to break out of your comfort zone. Here's to experiments in craft working out well and not being failures 😀 Happy crafting. Sally

Blossoms in Bloom

No matter how cold or rainy it gets flowers always brighten the day and put a smile on people's faces. here's a simple card I made with the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle . I layered up some whisper white cardstock as the base, and layer, and raised it up using foam adhesive sheets . A couple of retired embellishments and a simple sentiment and this card is ready to go. This season we are living in I've become more thankful for the simple things. Time with friends and family. Health. Wonderful conversations. There's so much to be thankful for if we just take a moment to pause and take stock of our circumstances. I'm incredibly thankful that I get to craft and to share my creations with so many people in my life. Happy crafting. Sally

When Flowers meet Art

For me when I think about flowers I think about spring and blossoms starting to bloom on the streets around me. I don't often think about art galleries but the name of this stamp set Art Gallery got me thinking about when I could travel and the types of art that I'm drawn to and Monet's paintings are certainly a stand out. For this card I used the Art Gallery Stamp set which is a two-step stamp set and for some of the second steps used heat and stick powder with gilded leafing to give it both a textural feel and some bling. It takes a bit more time to do the gilding but it's a very different effect to heat embossing and works really well when there is a large amount of stamped area to guild. It's almost perfect for two-step stamping to give it a bit of a lift.
