Miles apart but still in my heart...

2020 has been tough. We've been sheltering in place, physical distancing and doing everything we can to stay safe, well and see this pandemic come to an end. For many of us - myself included - this has meant spending a year far away from family and friends. Even though we are far apart, this year has been the year to go deeper with relationships and really cherish what matters - the conversations we can have and the memories we share. Here's a little COVID card I made to send to someone far away to let them know that they are and always will be in my heart. I stamp and heat embossed two of the panels using copper embossing powder and the Lovely You stamp set. The middle panel I stamped with a few different coloured inks. The leaves I layered on top are from the Forever Flourishing dies . I used the Lovely Labels punch to create my layered label for my sentiment. Everything Amazing Photopolymer Stamp Set

I'm taking a different tack on the blog today and showing you two cards - both of which feature a stamp set that is retiring in the current catalogue - the Everything Amazing Photopolymer Stamp Set. What's awesome about this set is is has a whole bunch of different phrases and words that you can use to customise your card for the occasion. Where I have 'you are an' stamped you could replace with 'you will do' or 'wishing you an'. For the words to substitute where I have 'friend' stamped you could replace it with 'friend', 'birthday' or things. There's also a substitute for the flowers - hearts, candles, flowers... you get my drift. It's cool because you can use one set but for many occasions. Although I decided to keep my stamps the same I wanted to do 2 very different cards. One with lots of colour and embellished. And one that is very simple - almost minimalist. #tooeasytuesday

I'm back but only briefly. I'm currently overseas on holiday for a much needed break and so am just stopping by to offer up a simple card for #tooeasytuesday. For this card I channelled my inner exchange student and busted out an origami technique to fold the bow. (Bet you didn't know I went to Japan on exchange... I also lived there for 18 months after I finished university). It's pretty easy to do and the instructions are available online. I kept it very simple and just added a brad and a simple sentiment stamp. I know many of you may say origami isn't easy, but once you get some of the basic folds down pat it becomes pretty simple. It's kind of like a modern version of teabag folding . Can't wait to get back into my craft room next month when I get home. I have a bunch of brand new goodies to play with. And I'm long overdue for a good play. Happy crafting.
