on the twelfth day of Christmas

Today it's all about the packaging.  Quick, easy and very fun.  Thankfully it's quick and easy as I had a ton of the small boxes to make to hold my Christmas baking!

If you can't tell already I'm addicted to the gift box punch board.  It's brilliant because you can make lots of different size boxes.  These were all made with it.  I can't wait to make some non-Christmas boxes for birthdays and other gifts.  With a coordinated card it's going to look great.
I'm taking off for a few days so it's time to wish you all happy holidays and I'll see you in the new year. Gift Box Punch Board $31.95 Big Shot $149.95 Gift Bow Bigz L Die $55.95 Table by StampinBuddy. Try it FREE.

on the eleventh day of Christmas

I love getting a new stamp set that matches with a punch.  It opens up so many different ways to use it.  I wanted to make a card with a lot of volume so I used the Festival of Trees stamp set with the matching punch to create multiples of the same stamp.  A little folding and gluing and you get 3D trees.  Too easy.

If you're wondering how to post this - never fear - it's the same as an ordinary card.  The trees fold flat for mailing and then stand up once you pop it on display.  Got to love that.  The other thing I love about matching stamp sets & punches?  They usually come cheaper when you buy them together.  Got to love a bargain!

on the tenth day of Christmas

Today I went for something a little different - no stamping - well almost.  This is all embellishment except for the sentiment stamped at the bottom.  It's all very classic colours - black, white, silver and cream.  This is a card I would give to someone who loves their bling & has very classic taste.

If you're wondering how I got the circle so perfectly round I used one of my circles from the circles framelits and lay it on the card while I was placing the pearls.  Much easier than trying to do this by sight alone.  Only 2 more days to go in my 12 days of Christmas special.  And I still have so much to do.  How about you?

on the ninth day of Christmas

This was the other new stamp set I bought for Christmas.  It has a coordinating punch (not used in this card) and I find it very hard to resist a stamp set that has a coordinating punch.  It's just too tempting and easy to use.  Love love love that.  I was going to add a lot more to this card, but I think I decided to keep it simple as I wasn't sure too much bling would really work.  Instead I decided to just repeat the pattern to give it some punch.

Only 3 more days to showcase my Christmas craft.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing what's been getting me excited to get back into crafting.  It's been a while.  I'm hoping 2015 allows for much more crafting time.  And of course new stamp sets :-)

on the eighth day of Christmas

On the eighth day of Christmas I got a new stamp set in the mail, and even though I showed you a card with it yesterday I'm still using it and creating something completely different.  No hint of winter here at all.  Just some traditional Christmas colours and a start or two, or three.

Layering is what makes this card a little more detailed but still very easy to make.  And as we're now in the final countdown to Christmas easy is what it's all about.

Happy crafting.

on the seventh day of Christmas

On the seventh day of Christmas I was looking at blogs from the northern hemisphere where they celebrate a winter white Christmas.  I decided to go for some delicate blues and a sprinkle of pearls and some shimmer to try and capture some of that experience - even though my Christmas is always hot and summery in Australia.
This is is a very simple care, lots of repeated stamped images and a few simple embellishments and that it.  If you had to make a lot of cards at Christmas this is definitely one you could mass produce very quickly.  You could also easily use some other colours and get a very different effect.

On a another note I can't believe Christmas is a little over a week away.  I don't know about you I'm not nearly ready.  I still have gifts to buy and things to bake.  I'm hoping I'll get a full day crafting in next weekend just in time to get everything done.  I'm also determined that next year it will be different.  I'll get it all done early ;-) …

on the sixth day of Christmas

Something a little different for the sixth day of Christmas - some super easy but really cute packaging.  All in all this took me less than 5 mins to make and I love how awesome it looks.  You could easily put a jumbo cupcake inside, some cookies or some other kind of small gift.  I love that it looks so professionally wrapped but it was still made by hand - with a little help from some tools.
I used the gift box punch to make the box.  I love love love this punch as it makes boxes up to just over 10cm on each side.  Think of how many things you make boxes for.  And it's super easy to use.  For the bow I used the Big Shot gift bow die.  A little glue to assemble things and you have perfectly professional packaging.

I'm super excited to make some holiday gifts this year and create perfect packaging like this to give them away.  The best thing about this idea?  You can use it all year round.  Just pick the appropriate colours and you could use this for birthdays, thank you gi…

on the fifth day of Christmas

This one is a pretty simple card, and a bit rustic.  A few stars, some burlap ribbon, a little smooch spritz and this vintage inspired Christmas card was done.

It might be simple but it's probably one of my favourites for that very reason. Sometimes it's best to just keep it to the minimum for a stronger effect.  It's not too late to stock up on some craft goodies for Christmas or a stocking fillers.  Right now there is up to 80% off in the year end close-outs in the online store.  Shop now for a bargain.
