Another birthday....

How was your weekend?  Was it full of crafting or busy with other fun activities?  I spent most of my weekend catching up on work around the house that has been piling up while I worked on renovating my spare room.  If you want to check out my week on instagram click here.  Despite my best efforts I didn't get anytime for crafting, so today I'm showing you a card I made a little while ago, but haven't posted yet.  Yes it's another birthday card.  You can't have too many right?

If you like this card and want to learn how to make it yourself (and order the supplies) email me at and I'll be happy to help you out with that.  If you just want to get your hands on the card you can head on over to my store at to purchase it.
Later this week I'll be announcing the dates for my May & June classes.  Keep an eye out for it and come along if you want to get crafty with like minded people.
Happy crafting.

Something a little personal

I don't usually write personal blog posts on this blog, but I wanted to share with you another project I've been working on for the last few weeks.  A few weeks ago my mum came to visit us.  We had a great time, and I was a little sad when she had to go home.  I was a little sad that while she was here she had to make do with the half-hearted effort that was our spare room.  There was a comfy sofa bed in there, but it was really just a mis-match of furniture that we've collected over the years, old carpet and nothing inspiring on the walls.  What's a girl to do?  Make over right?  Well that's what I've done.  We bought a bed, I pulled up the carpet.  Painted everything in sight - including the ceiling.  Stained the floors and generally spent every spare moment the last few weeks covered in paint and stain.  I'm not quite finished.  There still needs to be some art on the walls, and a few more trinkets but here's where it's at so far.

I don't ha…

Even more birthday cards!

I would like to tell you that this is the last birthday card I'll show you for a while... but I've still got one more for next week.  I do like this one though.  In keeping with my earlier post I've used the same cupcake stamp set & cupcake builder punch. I love using stamp sets that coordinate perfectly with punches.  It makes it so easy and your cards look fantastic.

Of course I used my favourite produce of the moment too - Crystal Effects with some Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on top.  What do you think?  Good enough to eat?

You may have noticed I've been tweaking my blog a bit of late.  Well the good news is I've been traveling a little less that last year for work, so I've had more time to craft and more time to blog.  I'm really determined to make time for the things I enjoy in life - and card making is one of them.  I'm also really wanting to connect with you - my readers.  So I'd love to hear from you by leaving a comment or coming on ov…

Did someone say birthday?

Still on the birthday bonanza.  Here's another birthday card I made recently.

Lots of layers and textures in this one.  I used huge amount of punches to make this card.  Can anyone guess the total number and name them all?  (Leave a comment if you know!)

I also used some Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on Crystal Effects on the cupcake to give it a special shimmer.  Unfortunately my photos don't do it justice and you can't really see it.  Never mind - that's something to work on improving.

Happy crafting.

Card making class - April 21

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter and a fantastic long weekend.  I got busy in my craft room and with my camera so I hope to have a lot of blog posts coming in the next week or so to show you what I've been up to.

Here's a sneak peek at what we'll be doing at my class on 21 April.

We'll be making 8 cards - all square this month.  The focus is on accessories so we'll be using lots of ribbon and buttons as well as stamping and some layers to get some lovely striking effects.
If you haven't come along to a class, why not try one out this month.  It's a great way to learn a new hobby, make some new friends and stock up on some cards.  The cost is $25 which includes all materials to make & take 8 cards (including envelopes & refreshments).  Email me at if you'd like to book in.
Happy crafting

Birthday bonanza part 2

Did you like the card I showed you in my last post?  One person did.  So much so that they bought it 3 hours after I posted it for sale on my store.  Anyway here's another birthday card to inspire you.

This one used lots of punches and layers, but only one stamped image.  It's amazing how much you can do with punches.  I love the versatility they give an how you can layer them to really give your project some dimension.

If you've stumbled across this blog and like the thought of making your own cards but don't know where to start, why not come along to my class on Saturday 21 April.  We'll be doing a stamp-a-stack and you'll make and take 8 cards.  The cost is $25 which covers all materials and refreshments.  You don't have have any experience or be at all crafty - it's very easy and a lot of fun.  Email me at if you'd like to come along or find out more information.

Happy crafting.

Birthday bonanza

Do you ever have one of those months where it seems like there is a birthday every week?  Sometimes almost every day?  I have those several times a year so always like to get ahead and have some birthday cards on hand - ready or any occasion.  Here's one of the ones I made recently.

I'm really happy with how it came out.  It's simple but striking with the few embellishments I used - pearls, ribbon, brads.  I also rounded the corners on both the card, and the layers to give it a nice retro effect.

It's always good to have a note card on hand.  If you need to stock up why not head on over to my store and grab one.  This card will be up there soon.

Happy crafting.
