Happy birthday mum

It was my mum's birthday last week. She doesn't live in Sydney so I wanted to send her a nice card. My mum is very sentimental and loves things that have a lot of thought put into them. What has more thought put into it that making a card? I also wanted to let her her know how much I love and appreciate her. She's an amazing woman, with great strength of character, compassionate and kind, giving and all-round wonderful.

This is what I came up with. I wanted to make something soft and feminine. Something that my mum would love. I chose the sentiment - happiness always - as that's my wish for her.

I tore the edges of the layers behind the stamped image to give it a more organic/soft effect. After stamping the image in Sahara Sand I used a sponge to sponge around the edge of the very vanilla to soften the effect and give it a vintage feel.

Hope you like it.
