Thank you

Happy Monday.

I would like to start this week thanking you all for your patience as I haven't posted much the last few months - forgive me!  Life has been enjoyably hectic and I've had very little time to craft.  That hasn't changed much yet, but I did have the opportunity on Saturday to get creative.

A few weeks ago we had a charity auction at work to raise money for 3 different local charities.  As part of the auction we were encouraged to donate goods or services and people could bid on them throughout the week.  It was a great success and we raised over $10,000.  For my part (in addition to bidding on some awesome services from my team mates) I auctioned a 10 pack of cards (theme of winner's choice) and a 5 pack of cards (theme of winners choice).  They both sold for a lot more that I could have imagined, and Saturday was my day to get crafting and come up with 15 cards!

I'm not going to show them all to you today... but I do have 15 cards now to blog about.  The winner of the 10 pack chose birthday cards as their theme and the other chose thank you cards.  Apologies in advance if you get sick of these themes :-)

I'll kick off this card making journey today by showing you one of the birthday cards.

This is a really simple design with a colour combo I saw at convention earlier this year.  I used Cheep Talk - one of the fantastic sets on sale at the moment (yay!!!) - and a Happy Birthday sentiment from a retired stamp set.

I love the fact that you can make a simple card look so striking when you get the colour combo right.  I can't take credit for that - it was the wonderful folk at Stampin' Up! who gave me the inspiration - but I can certainly use it again.

If your interested in learning how to make cards for birthday's, thank you's, Christmas and more... why not come along to one of my classes and find out how easy it is.  (Trust me if I can do it - anyone can!!!)  I've got a Short-Stack running this Thursday night at the Waterfront (4 cards for $10) and a project class on Saturday ($20 - includes refreshments).  Email me at info@sallycancraft.com if you'd like to come along.
