#techniquethursday - layered ink

I've demonstrated layering with cardstock before but today I'm going to demonstrate layering with ink - just ink & stamps.  This is a great technique to create your own background paper or to make a simple colourful card.

For this card I kept it simple and used just 3 colours.  First I stamped the main background image in the lightest colour Pear Pizzaz.  I then stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso, and finally the flower in Calypso Coral.  The main thing to think about when using this technique is to decide what image you want to stand out and stamp that in your strongest colour.  The main background image should always be in something more subtle so that it appears as a backdrop to your focal point.  And here's what the finished card looks like.

That's it.  Short and simple but a great way of creating a different card.

Don't forget there's just a few more days left to get your hands on retiring stock.  After 1 July it will all be gone.  Check out the specials here

Happy crafting.
