Perfect Packaging

Did you see my little sneak peek post yesterday?  Did you notice what it was?

In case you missed it here's a pic.

With Christmas coming up what better time to think beyond just cards, and turn your mind towards packaging :-)

I used to live in Japan.  One of the things I love best was having things gift wrapped at stores. They used the most beautiful wrapping paper and accessories to wrap each item individually and turn it from a simple gift into a work of art.  For my nieces 21st Birthday I had a dilema over what to purchase as a gift and ended up with several items.  To tie it all together I wanted to create some beautiful packaging with the same colours and theme to show her how much I care and to make it really special.  So over the next few days I'm going to share some of these effort with you.  Their will be no sneak peak at the gifts though ;-)

The first packing project I'm going to show you is the largest project at the front.  I had a large item to wrap but wanted to give it some structure so I created a box to be decorated in the colour theme - Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Basic Black and Whisper White.

As all of these gifts had to be packaged together to travel interstate I didn't want to put too many things on this box as it was likely to have the other gifts stack on top of it.  I keep it simple repeated the top note shape with the small sentiment punched out in the lower corner.

One other thing I did was create one of these big fluffy flowers to keep a theme running through each item.

My niece like the wrapping... or so she tells me :-)  I had a great time doing this.  I think the best bit is showing someone you love how much you care through creating something beautiful.

Hope you like it.  I'll be back to showcase another item tomorrow.
